KaraokeMaker
Here are a few samples of songs that we have processed with KaraokeMaker. If you can, you should turn up the bass on your soundcard or mixer. And remember, while you might hear a trace of the original vocals, they will not be audible as soon as you start singing! So plug in your mic, turn up the volume and Sing Out Loud!

DeComposer

In the table below, you will find some DeComposer examples. We have taken out the lead guitar from the original file and then re-recorded our own guitar solos back on top of the original mix. You can hear both versions: without the original guitar and with our solo re-recorded. All guitar solos were played by Richie Saccente, the former President of RePlay Technologies. You see, not only was he the former President of RePlay Technologies, he is a client too! The current president is also a client ;-)

Anyway, we had a lot of fun making these recordings. Here's how we did it in 4 easy steps!

  1. Used CD Looper to record each loop from the original cd recording. After the loop was slowed down, we just renamed the ~record.wav file (that's the loop recorded at full speed) and saved it on our hard drive.
  2. We then ran that new wav file through DeComposer and removed the guitar solo. In some cases, we turned down the sensitivity level so that we could hear just a trace of the original guitar. This helped us by providing an audible cue where needed.
  3. We then ran NoteGrabber and loaded up the new wav file that had been filtered.
  4. Finally, we ran OverDubber, set the number of takes, named the output file and started wailing away.
